Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineer to join our team, working on a portfolio of conveyance projects for water, water reuse, and wastewater. This role offers the flexibility to be hybrid after the initial training period, based on performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design, hydrology, and water/wastewater systems.
Responsibilities:
Prepare basic to highly complex engineering designs involving conveyance systems, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution systems, collection systems, site layout development, site grading and drainage, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, and stormwater infrastructure.
Provide construction support services, including submittal and RFI reviews, design change reviews, site visits, and construction management services.
Conduct master planning, research, modeling, and conceptual design.
Review draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and requirements.
Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications; update design requirements as necessary.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; review the work of junior staff.
Represent the company at conferences and provide technical support on business development opportunities.
Collaborate with staff in local and regional offices and various engineering disciplines in other offices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer).
At least 5 years of related experience.
Experience with rating, piping design, and conveyance.
Familiarity with water/wastewater systems, hydrology, collection systems, site drainage, and grading.
Knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to provide construction support services.
Proficiency in master planning, research, modeling, and conceptual design.
Experience reviewing draft designs and reports for compliance with regulations.
Technical guidance and training capabilities.
Ability to represent the company at conferences and support business development.
Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as required (up to 10% of the time).
