The Construction Estimating Manager is responsible for leading and managing the estimating process to ensure projects are bid competitively, profitably, and with attention to quality and compliance. This role requires an individual who can handle multiple estimates and project responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and strong business relationships with clients and vendors.
Responsibilities
Develops and owns all aspects of construction project estimates, including cost analysis, material requirements, labor, and subcontractor involvement.
Prepares detailed cost estimates, schedules, and work plans for each bid project to ensure financial viability and alignment with project goals.
Collaborates with Project Managers to align estimates with job specifications, making adjustments as necessary to optimize cost efficiency and profitability.
Communicates project estimates and budgetary requirements to internal teams and external clients, maintaining transparency and proactively addressing any changes in project scope or costs.
Monitors industry trends and market pricing to ensure competitive and accurate pricing structures.
Serves as the primary point of contact for clients regarding estimates, managing all communications regarding bid pricing, contract negotiation, change orders, and other financial aspects.
Partners closely with other departments (Project Management, Operations, Safety) to ensure alignment and support successful project outcomes.
Identifies and cultivates business development opportunities with new and existing clients to support revenue growth.
Ensures adherence to company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations throughout the estimating and bidding process.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite and estimating software such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, or comparable platforms.
Experience & Education
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction estimating, preferably within the commercial or industrial sectors.
Proficiency in construction estimating and project management software, as well as Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite, is required.
Physical Demands
Ability to work in an office setting for extended periods.
Ability to visit various job sites as needed, including traveling to active construction sites with varying terrain and weather conditions.
Ability to operate a vehicle to conduct on-site assessments and meetings.
Other Requirements
This is a full-time position, requiring regular weekday hours, with flexibility to adjust hours based on project demands.
Periodic site visits throughout project duration are expected, along with occasional travel to other company office locations.
