CooperVision (CVI) is recruiting a Senior Manager, Process Automation. As a member of CVI’s Global Technical Innovation Group, the Senior Manager, Process Automation oversees the design, implementation, and optimization of automated processes within the Global Technical Innovation Group. This role is critical for enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and drive innovative solutions. Additionally, the role involves mentoring team members, establishing performance metrics, and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement in automation practices. Engaging with stakeholders across departments will be essential to align on project objectives and expectations. The Senior Manager is responsible of assessing and establishing strategy, execution and initiatives aligned with organizational goals and critical projects. Responsibilities include leading automation projects from conception to implementation, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. The manager will also collaborate closely with quality assurance, among other functional groups, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and commitments. Position is based in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Define and drive the overall automation strategy for the Global Technical Innovations Group, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of multiple automation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Engage with senior leadership and other stakeholders to communicate project progress, outcomes, and strategic recommendations.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among project managers, engineers, and quality assurance teams to achieve project objectives.
Conduct thorough assessments of existing technology to identify automation opportunities.
Utilize data-driven methodologies to recommend and implement process and technology improvements.
Evaluate and integrate new automation technologies, assessing their potential benefits and risks for the organization.
Guide the design and implementation of advanced automated systems and processes that enhance productivity while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Prioritize automation initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and resource availability.
Develop and lead execution of validation protocols for automated systems to ensure reliability and adherence to regulatory standards.
Work closely with quality assurance teams to maintain thorough documentation and audit readiness.
Stay aware of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in process automation.
Propose innovative solutions that leverage new technologies to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth within the automation team.
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices related to process automation across the organization.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Travel:
This role may require travel up to 25% of the time both domestic (within US), and international.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Expertise in Automation Systems Integration, including proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, databases, vision systems, and automated manufacturing systems.
Strong skills in managing complex automation projects, including vendor management, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
Knowledge of: CGMP (QRS), automation and controls, validations. Design control, SOP’s, tooling and CAD/CAM
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Computer literate (MS Office, ERP and related software and applications).
Available to travel up to 25% of the time to domestic and international destinations.

Generally, works in a closed environment, in office conditions, with moderate level of noise and controllable changes of temperature.

Experience:
Ten (10) years minimum of experience in regulated medical devices/ pharmaceutical industry.
Ten (10) years of direct process automation experience at the exempt level leading high level (regional or global) teams and projects.
Staff direct supervision and oversight experience required.
Ability to lead both strategy and execution aspects within the automation field as well as operate in a matrixed environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Electrical, Computer / Software, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering majors or related field preferred.
Advanced automation related certifications, PE, and graduate degrees are preferred.
