Quantitative Associate - Renewable Energy Analytics
Our client, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking an accomplished Quantitative Associate to join their analytics team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive data decision-making across the revenue function, focusing on renewable power sales, portfolio management of solar generation assets, and optimisation of battery storage assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop models to support decision-making in renewable power sales, asset management, and battery storage optimization
Provide analytics to maximize asset P&L while mitigating risks
Support the company's growth by helping deliver innovative renewable energy solutions to customers nationwide
Contribute to the development of customer-led strategies and product innovation
Leverage analytics to build out an ecosystem for measuring, reporting, and sensitising portfolio positions and risks
Design and construct risk management tools for evaluating and managing the company's risk profile
Develop techniques for quantitative data management, advanced analytics, and machine learning
Monitor and analyze market information to identify opportunities for profitability and risk reduction
Develop strategies to optimize solar generation and battery storage assets
Incorporate weather forecasts, load forecasts, and operational constraints into decision-making processes
Analyze commercial terms of PPAs, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies
Qualifications:
2-5 years of relevant experience in competitive energy markets, preferably with renewable assets
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
Experience in valuation and analysis of derivatives, and pricing of structured products
Familiarity with US power markets and commodity markets
Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Python, C++, C#, R, VBA, Matlab, and SQL
