THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 2 YEARS.
We are seeking a Data Manger for ACHIEVE, one of four Maternal Health Community Implementation Projects sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) (https://www.maternalhealthcip.org/). UNC's project is a multi-level, community-engaged clinical trial to test the implementation of an outpatient severe hypertension (O-HTN) bundle in 20 prenatal care clinics in NC. The goals of ACHIEVE are to: 1) engage community partners in increasing awareness and enhance respectful care delivery of the O-HTN bundle; 2) engage clinic partners in adapting the O-HTN bundle for their healthcare setting and patient population; 3) select and adapt implementation strategies for participating clinics; 4) implement the O-HTN bundle across three consecutive clinic cohorts, and 5) measure implementation outcomes such as fidelity to the bundle using quantitative and qualitative methods. Health equity principles are incorporated into all aspects of the trial, with the long-term goal of decreasing MCH disparities related to severe hypertension. This is a hybrid work position and local travel to clinics for data collection and meetings may be required.
The primary purpose of this position is to collect, organize, and clean multiple types of quantitative data and perform basic descriptive analyses. Data will come from various sources, including but not limited to web surveys, electronic health records, observation checklists, nursing logs, and text from open-ended responses. The Data Manager will propose and execute data management solutions in RedCap (https://tracs.unc.edu/index.php/services/informatics-and-data-science/redcap), where all quantitative study data are stored. In collaboration with the biostatistics GRA and project statistician, they will conduct basic descriptive analyses and data visualizations to be shared with project staff, clinic personnel, and Coalition members. The Data Manager will ensure database compliance with HIPAA and IRB regulations and monitor data integrity and quality. The person in the position will support ACHIEVE's Measurement & Analysis Core and advise members of other Cores (Community Engagement, Health Equity, Clinical Integration) as needed.
The Data Manager's primary responsibilities include:
Program and distribute web-based surveys
Conduct chart audits and train and supervise other staff responsible for chart audits
Coordinate with external partners to access study data

Coordinate with the Administrative Core to maintain the ACHIEVE Clinical Trial Regulatory Binder including updating and organizing tracking logs and essential documents on a regular basis
Develop and maintain coding documentation for each of ACHIEVE's study measures and ID #s for all participants.
Organize and maintain repositories of video recordings of clinic simulations so they are easily accessed and scored by other team members
Program data collection instruments in Redcap, maintain all Redcaps projects associated with ACHIEVE data, and manage varying levels of access to projects within RedCap to ensure data security/validity.
Navigate databases within REDCap to locate requested datasets, export data, and translate exported data into various formats (e.g., create smaller datasets for review at meetings, create run charts or bar graphs to demonstrate trends, etc.).
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.
