About Foundations to Freedom: Foundations To Freedom is a non-profit corporation, incorporated under the laws of Florida. Foundations' purpose is to provide a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment for individuals to grow in their recovery and attain a higher level of recovery. Foundations' goal is to instill life skills that will not only help recovering individuals while living in Foundations' recovery homes but will also be of value when clients re-integrate back into mainstream society. Duties: As a Staff Accountant, Employee shall perform the following duties and obligations as part of Employees employment: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions and records. Handle journal entries, adjustments, and month-end closing procedures. Process vendor invoices, verify expense reports, and manage payments. Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain relationships with donors and partners. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Generate customized financial reports for management, board members, and grantors as required. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budgetary performance and provide variance analysis to ensure adherence to financial plans. Manage grant-related financial activities, including tracking expenses, tagging expenses, preparing financial reports for grantors, and ensuring compliance with grant guidelines. Perform regular bank and credit card account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve any issues promptly. Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, benefits, and deductions. Stay up to date with accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards applicable to non-profit organizations. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and reporting requirements. Assist with annual financial audits, providing required documentation and support to auditors. Maintain organized financial records and documentation within the accounting system and ensure proper data entry. Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identify areas for cost optimization, and propose financial strategies. Work closely with other members of the finance team, program managers, and other departments to support financial planning and operational efficiency. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with precision and attention to detail. Ensure that all accounting tasks and financial records comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP). High level of integrity and ethics in handling sensitive financial information. Provide budgets and assist in forecasting. Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Comply with all Foundations policies and procedures. Performing all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or immediate supervisor. Qualifications:Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.5 or more years of accounting experience, including experience with Gusto or other payroll softwareMinimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit accounting and grant budgeting.Experience with reimbursement grant fund allocation.Valid drivers license required.Must pass background screening.Must pass initial and random drug screenings.Minimum of 5 years of recovery from substance use disorder or other co-occurring disorders, if applicable.
