The mission of Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics (BIAA) is to: Deliver meaningful analytic solutions by bringing together data, systems, and people to enhance the work and lives of OHSU members and the communities we serve.
OHSU Health Services manages value-based arrangements that span the continuum of value-based payment models, including full-risk/capitated models, shared savings, shared risk, and pay for performance. Success under these programs requires improving health, managing costs, addressing health equity while enhancing the experience of patients, providers and staff – The Quintuple Aim.
The role is primarily responsible for ensuring Health Services leadership and teams have access to and necessary modifications to the data model infrastructure that combines data across claims and clinical data. This tool is based on a caboodle data model from source queries. The data model and related queries powers vestigial Tableau based visualization as well as newly developed Power BI dashboards. The primary dashboards and user made versions from the data model supply information for team members to make decisions about programs aimed at improving care, reducing cost, and increasing patient satisfaction.
This position will collaborate directly with Health Services executive leadership to provide advanced analytics to support the interventions used to improve health for the population of members. Beyond specific reporting, the Systems Analyst role is expected to support and monitor the performance of the reporting system. This requires testing of dashboard response times, and assessing system resources for supporting the technology.
As part of innovations to support OHSU Health Services, understanding of risk adjustment, predictive, and clustering models is necessary. These models are designed to assist in the prioritization of workflows to outreach to members and may require custom development using statistical approaches.
Solution development will follow the OHSU software development methodology and adhere to data governance, data security, and report standards. ITG employees are responsible for the security of OHSU technology. In exercising their duties, ITG employees must follow OHSU's security directives, incorporating security measures in the delivery of their everyday tasks, and are required to report security concerns to the OHSU Integrity Office and/or ITG Security Engineering team.
