CLASSIFICATION: Senior Electronics Engineer (RF and PCB Design)

GRADE: Exempt; Regular, Full-Time

LOCATION: Guided Weapons Evaluation Facility (GWEF), Eglin AFB, FL – On Site

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides senior level expertise to resolve moderately to very challenging problems in the area of responsibility. Work independently in nearly all cases with rare need to consult with principal level expertise on problems of exceptional difficulty.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Collaborate in a team environment with other Subject Matter Experts within a fast-paced and demanding work setting, where situations and priorities can change rapidly, requiring adaptability and quick decision-making.
• Design, develop, test, and oversee the operation of printed circuit boards (PCBs) with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF) components.
• Carry out inspection and testing of electronic sub-assemblies in accordance with test procedures and the company standards.
• Carry out the operation of Automatic Test Equipment including any manual intervention as required by the test specification.
• Carry out basic fault finding on failed sub-assemblies.

Job Requirements:

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Top-Secret security clearance. Must meet requirements to operate in enhanced security environments.

OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties may be assigned to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Either a minimum of a MS from an accredited school in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, physics, mathematics or a closely related technical field as appropriate to the position and a minimum of 10 years of senior level experience in specialized or focused areas related to electronics systems design and implementation. Or a BS from an accredited school in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, physics, mathematics or a closely related technical field as appropriate to the position and a minimum of 13 years of senior level experience in specialized or focused areas related to electronics systems design and implementation.

• Experience in the design, development, test and oversight of PCBs.
• Experience in RF electronic circuits, including digital design, analog design, programmable logic devices and microprocessor interfaces.
• Experience with Radar and Radar DSP algorithms and techniques.
• Experience using EGAD software (e.g. OrCad, Altium PADs KiCad).
• Experience working with various communication protocols including TCP, UDP, UART, I2C MIL 1553 JESD 2048 AXl4.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities are normally performed in an environmentally controlled area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials and require very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials.
