Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of the Active Directory (Responsible for the majority of authentications on campus. Included but not limited to CAS (CalNet Authentication System), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), and Kerberos), Windows Servers (Caltime, Campus Electronic lock systems, SRDC (Secure Research Data and Compute, and Citrix (CalPlanning, CalAnswers, VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).
Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for AD (Active Directory)/Windows/Citrix related issues.
Manage relationships with vendors and service providers related to AD (Active Directory), Windows and Citrix tools and services.
Monitor AD (Active Directory), Windows and Citrix performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability.
Security, Compliance, and Continuity
Implement and enforce security policies, access controls, and compliance standards to protect AD/Windows/Citrix infrastructure.
Develop, test, and maintain AD backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Collaboration, Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of AD/Windows/Citrix configurations, processes, and procedures.
Mentor junior administrators and provide training on AD, Windows and Citrix best practices and procedures.
Work closely with other IT teams, including network (NOS), security (ISO), application teams (Calnet, CAD), and various other departments (UHS, Optometry, Facilities) to ensure seamless integration and operation of AD, Windows and Citrix services that Support their Departments and Campus.
Project and Systems Improvement
Lead and participate in AD, Windows and Citrix-related projects, such as migrations, upgrades, and integrations with other systems and applications.
Engage in continuous professional development and training and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
General knowledge of other areas of IT. Thorough understanding of/and experience with systems-related issues and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance.
Demonstrated skills associated with adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent/related functions.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with system problem identification and resolution. Experience with design, configuration, operation, repair, and tuning of technology systems.
Advanced knowledge of computer security best practices and policies including demonstrated experience securing most complex server-based software.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced experience writing and editing the most complex scripts used to perform system maintenance and administration.
