Job Description:

We are currently hiring a Lead Scheduler for our client based out of the Houston, TX area. This will be a 2 plus year contract and the position.

Job Summary

The Planning and Scheduling Lead is responsible for supporting the Planning and Scheduling Manager. The Planning and Scheduling Lead is responsible for developing, monitoring, and leading the completion of program priorities using plans / schedules. The Planning and Scheduling Lead manages the overall program's planning and scheduling process and reporting, works in collaboration with the functional teams to provide accurate schedule information and monitors critical activities through project close-out. The Planning and Scheduling Lead ensures integration of developed activities into an overall Master Control Schedule. In collaboration with program EPC contractors, the Planning and Scheduling Lead ensures appropriate schedule risk analysis is undertaken and progress is measured, implemented, and reported. The role has a large and direct impact on the project timeline and project information management, which impacts the overall cost and management of program's internal and external stakeholders. In support of these responsibilities, the Planning and Scheduling Lead must interact with and integrate the requirements of the program team and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors.

This is a leadership role reporting to the Planning and Scheduling Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Compiles program Integrated Level 1, 2, & 3 MCS
• Supports program's Schedule and Reporting Management Plan
• Supports the management of schedule interfaces between projects
• Provides quality assurance on schedule data being provided
• Leads the consolidation of schedule data into the MCS
• Leads milestone reporting and analysis on pinch points and impacts for the program
• Day to Day Contact for Overall MCS
• Maintains overall schedule basis for program
• Oversee and support 3rd party planning and scheduling teams
• Coordinate the development and maintenance of the Basis of Schedule that includes project deliverables, constraints, and assumptions with input from the project management team, functional leads, and EPC contractors
• Provide relevant & specific expertise to diagnose, investigate & overcome problems. Provide best practice advice & guidance as it relates to the planning and scheduling process
• Act as a scheduling single point of contact for the assigned project execution team
• Facilitate integrated planning sessions and lookahead meeting with Engineering and Construction teams
• Maintain compliance with guidelines and the Projects Common Process related to schedule and reporting policy, procedures, processes, guidelines, tools and templates
• Monitor and oversee schedule maintenance of the integrated EPC Master Schedule in accordance with Basis of Schedule, Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Contracting Strategy to meet project goals and business objectives
• Evaluate accuracy of and integrate third party schedules into the Master Schedule upon approval
• Ensure schedules are baselined, and resource loaded
• Validate the resource loading within the contractor's schedule to ensure it reconciles with the estimate
• Ensure all activity links are logic driven and are aligned with project deliverables, the Project Execution Plan (PEP), Contracting Strategy, and Workface Plan
• Perform schedule analysis and report findings, including critical path, longest path and slippage analysis
• Assist in developing recovery plans
• Implement appropriate levels of field quantity and schedule analysis to validate contractor field progress
• Closely monitor scheduling performance against realistic targets to ensure that objectives and key performance indicators are met
• Develop, validate, and update the schedule and monthly reports to include progress, key performance indicators, and schedule forecasts via DOMO or Power BI
• Provide comprehensive and accurate schedule and monthly reports using data from both systems and contractor supplied information
• Coordinate the preparation of schedule risk analyses
• Identify, analyze, and respond to project opportunities, risks, and uncertainties
• Ensure appropriate application of change control process
• Monitor progress measurement system reporting
• Work with site resources to complete all closeout requirements including lessons learned
• Support continuous improvement efforts for the scheduling and reporting team and assigned controls team

Experience & Qualifications

Experience:
• More than 15 years of relevant professional experience (within the Chemical / Petrochemical / Industrial / Refining / Production Areas) in Project Management or Project Controls
• Degree in Engineering, Business or Project Management
• Major Project Experience in Planning and Scheduling
• Understanding of different methods of project / government financing / funding and legislation
• Ability to harness use of digital tools to provide high quality cost reporting information
• Ability to travel to HQ in Houston, TX
