Senior Counsel provides legal services and counsel to the Cape Fear Valley Health System and its related entities (CFVHS) on various legal matters including interpretation & application of laws and regulations, as well as contractual relations and liability matters. The Senior Counsel will be responsible for day-to-day management of junior attorneys to the Health System and will guide and assist department staff in the provision of Legal Services. Additionally, the Senior Counsel will be responsible for oversight of the Contract Analysis & Negotiations (CAN) Department and will guide and assist the CAN Manager with issues related to Business Owner relationships, staffing matters, and policy development and implementation.
Minimum of 6 years as a practicing attorney in a law firm or in-house position. Experience in health care industry, including preparation of contracts and transactional documents, is preferred. Work schedule in excess of 40 hours/week. Effective oral and written communication; strong problem solving skills; possesses knowledge of health care industry; ability to work well individually and as a team member.Hearing and verbal ability to communicate, Visual acuity and manual dexterity is required.
