Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for producing plan sets, land plats, preliminary property line calculations, and title and encumbrance reports for use by the design staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes the drafting required for the finished right-of-way product, utilizing company and INDOT CAD Standards.
  • Creates Location ControlRoute Survey Plats(LCRSP) for review by Surveyor along with coordinating the recording of the certified plat.
  • Plots property lines from deeds when required.
  • Uses experience and minimal supervision from others to create accurate right-of-way drawings, including plans, parcel plats, and LCRSPs according to company, client or regulatory agency standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Uses a basic to intermediate knowledge of the various AutoCAD Civil 3D modules to incorporate and annotate Civil 3D design right-of-way drawings.
  • Completes QA/QC of Right-of-Way drawings.
  • Research land records for conveyance documents and various encumbrances on properties adjoining project corridors.
  • Exhibits company values of honesty, professionalism, consideration, dedication, and accountability at all times.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in Land Surveying Drafting/Technology (or similar program) or 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Working knowledge of WORD and EXCEL.
  • Comprehensive skills related to following chain of title issues
  • Strong verbal communications skills and the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or clients as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically indoors and may sit for extended periods of time. Occasionally, work assignment will require time spent outdoors with some physical exertion required when necessary. Out-of-town travel and over-night stays may also be required, although rarely.
