Job Description:

The Mission Critical (MC) Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding market presence in the mission critical data center sector. This role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center operations, business development, and a deep understanding of the mission critical environment. This individual will develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of the company. Integrity, passion, technical knowledge and in-person presentational skills are essential for this role.



Roles and Responsibilities

  • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential business opportunities within the mission critical data center sector.
    • Analyze market data to develop strategic business development plans.
  • Lead Generation and Sales:
    • Identify and engage with prospective clients, establishing and maintaining strong relationships.
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
    • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to clients.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure new business.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
    • Foster long-term relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored data center solutions.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work closely with the Director of Business Development to align business development activities with organizational goals.
    • Coordinate with internal teams, including operations, engineering, and project management, to ensure seamless delivery of services.
    • Provide feedback to internal teams on client needs and market trends to drive continuous improvement.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business development efforts.

· Develop Departmental tactics by market with measurable KPI's.

· Work with marketing team to develop appropriate content and marketing strategies.

· Develop a strong technical working knowledge of the product lines.


Education

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the data center industry.

Additional Skills

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of mission critical data center operations and infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Additional requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license as well as a good driving record
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to technical questions
  • Must have a valid U.S. passport
  • Able to work overtime when required
  • Able to travel frequently (60+%)
  • Ability to use desktop computer and peripherals

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Frequent travel is required, often up to several hours of driving or flying per day.

  • Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes weighing up to 50lbs
  • Bending/squatting/kneeling/stooping/crouching/crawling/twisting up and walking up to 8-10 hours per day
  • Standing- Must be able to stand or sit in one place up to 8-10 hours per day
