JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled, insightful, and energetic team player to be a crucial member of the Protein Engineering group. The Senior Scientist will perform most of our novel recombinant protein purification and biophysical analysis. This researcher will also be responsible for lot storage and excellent record keeping of all drugs made in-house and by external CROs. This role involves collaborating with protein design, molecular and cellular biology, and immunology to create novel recombinant drugs with acceptable yields, stable biophysical characteristics, and optimally potent biological activity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Purify endotoxin-free proteins from mammalian cell supernatants or E. coli lysates via Protein A/G/L, nickel-NTA, and affinity along with other isolation methods (IEX, SEC, HIC, etc.)
Perform biophysical analysis and characterization including PAGE, SEC, IEF, BLI thermostability, etc.
Keep excellent records of all purified lots and maintain detailed and up to date electronic notebooks
Coordinate and collaborate with rest of the team to create and develop novel protein drugs
Oversee CROs that provide recombinant protein production, biophysical analysis, mass-spec, and other protein science services
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BS+10/MS+8/PhD+5 in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related fields
Extensive experience in protein sciences, in particular purification and biophysical characterization
Prior experience working with multi-targeting molecules, cell engagers, and other similar Ig-based molecules a plus
Formulation, process development, and prior experience in technology transfer with CMC a plus
The anticipated salary range for this position is $163K to $183K. The actual salary will be dependent on various factors that may include experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities.
