  • Key Responsibilities:


    • Focus on data modeling and developing automated ETL processes from various data sources.

    • Develop, monitor, and maintain a variety of automated database processes.

    • Research and resolve database issues as they arise.

    • Perform various database management and maintenance tasks.

    • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and a technical mentor to other IT staff.

    • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and DBAs

    • Work closely with IT vendors, IT leadership, and business partners.

    • Play a key role in system migrations, expansions, and data modernization efforts.

    Required Experience:


    • Extensive practical experience with modern Oracle platforms and technologies.

    • Significant senior DBA-level experience in designing and implementing enterprise-class data repositories using Oracle on-premises and cloud-hosted databases.

    • Practical experience in developing fully automated ETL processes from various flat-file and database sources.

    • Experience utilizing API calls for automated data refreshes.

    • Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).

    • Mastery of SQL and PL/SQL, with the ability to develop complex procedures, functions, views, and scripts.

    • Expertise in dimensional modeling and experience with tabular data models.

    • Proven ability to capture complex business requirements and translate them into robust, performant, scalable, reliable, and expandable technical solutions.

    • Demonstrates a disciplined approach to process and error logging.

    • Maintains excellent work habits in coding comments, system documentation, and metadata creation.

    • Ability to serve as a technical mentor to both senior and junior IT staff.

    • Ability to develop architectural diagrams and system documentation, and train others on the content.

    • Demonstrates success in independently researching technical options to find suitable solutions for evolving technical needs.

    • Works independently towards project and assignment goals with limited day-to-day oversight.
