The Data Analyst position will work in the Data Analytics team within the Office of the Provost at the University of Pittsburgh.
The Data Analyst will perform data analysis and create both static and dynamic reports and dashboards for senior leaders, including deans, vice provosts, and associate deans. The Data Analyst will meet independently with stakeholders to design and implement solutions to complex problems. The Data Analyst will prepare a variety of regular as well as ad-hoc reports and dashboards. The Data Analyst will also work on automating current data extraction, data documentation, and data cleaning processes. The Data Analyst will provide data support to people within the Office of the Provost.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, Business Information Systems, Data Sciences, Statistics, or related field. Three years of experience in database management, business intelligence, or information technology, or some combination of related experience and graduate education required.
• Candidate must have experience working within a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• The incumbent must have experience with workflow tools (e.g., Alteryx), query writing (e.g., SQL), relational databases (e.g., Access), and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau).
• The incumbent must also have excellent organizational skills, including a keen orientation to details and deadlines, as well as ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability and desire to acquire new knowledge and skills.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience.
Evaluates business requirements and performs advanced data integration and analysis. Develops advanced analytical and reporting tools utilizing multiple sources of integrated data. Provides technical support.
• The Data Analyst provides data support and analysis for the Office of the Provost.
• The Data Analyst works on developing and implementing programs to design, create, and manage large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
• The Data Analyst evaluates business requirements and performs advanced data preparation and analysis.
• The Data Analyst prepares a variety of regular as well as ad-hoc reports.
• Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Institutional Research, the Data Analyst will develop new reports and dashboards for senior leaders, including deans, vice provosts, and associate deans.
• The Data Analyst will meet independently with stakeholders to design and implement solutions to complex problems.
• The Data Analyst updates and upgrades existing dashboards and reports.
• The Data Analyst prepares static reports with both tabular and graphical presentations as well as dynamic reports.
• The Data Analyst works on automating data extraction, data documentation, and data cleaning processes.
• The Data Analyst works on submitting data to the AAUDE and benchmarking against peers and other universities using AAUDE data.
