Summary of Position

Our Engineering Services group is looking for an intern this summer to help Jabil make everything better and anything possible. The Engineering Services group supports engineering teams designing electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical systems by implementing process and technology solutions. The Engineering Services group does not perform engineering of products, but instead engineers solutions for processes and tasks that support the product design team. The candidate that is chosen for this role will have the opportunity to support process improvements through the implementation of technology and software solutions. The intern will be given a primary task to complete during the internship. They will be enabled to lead all aspects of the task from project management, solution development, roll-out and communication, and monitoring once implemented.

Intern Duties & Responsibilities


  • Primary Project

    • Develop a project plan to complete the assigned task within the internship timeline. Map out milestones, timeline, and methods for determining project success.

    • Improve the process. Research and understand the current process. Improve the process through the implementation of software, automation, or other improvement methods.
      • Develop the software and/or automation tools using the Microsoft Power Platform, Python, Mendix, or other software.


    • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to implement the new process and solution.

    • Develop and implement the monitoring solutions for the process, including but not limited to, PowerBI dashboards and automated alerts via PowerAutomate.



  • General Support

    • Work with engineers around the world to support Engineering Services initiatives.

    • Help build databases and dashboards for key processes and engineering information.

    • Support the standardization of processes and procedures across engineering organizations supporting many industries.

    • Prioritize and complete other tasks as assigned



Qualifications

Major(s): Process Improvement, Information Technology, Data Scientist, Computer Programmer, Web Developer, and related majors.

Class Year(s): Rising Junior, Rising Senior

GPA: Min 3.0

Availability: Must be available to work in St. Petersburg Florida from May 19, 2025 – Aug 8, 2025

Technical Skills:


  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platforms preferred, including PowerBI, PowerAutomate, and PowerApps

  • Experience or knowledge of project management and process improvement principles such as Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, DMEDI, and/or SCRUM

  • Knowledge of Python and/or JSON preferred

  • Experience with Database Development preferred

  • Effective Communication skills 

  • Self-starter – ability to drive work and manage time and tasks effectively

  • Demonstrate leadership skills: agility, building trusting relationships, decision making skills, and resilience 

  • Strong examples of experience in academic work or participation in Capstone Programs 

  • Additional extracurricular activities    

  • Future mobility
