Job Description:

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and build the capital equipment and machines used in our internal production processes. This role will focus on mechanical design and equipment development to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, machine fabrication, and equipment development, with minimal automation experience required. Experience in a regulated environment or knowledge of medical devices is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Design & Development: Research, design, and develop production equipment and mechanical systems tailored to the company's manufacturing needs.
  • Fabrication & Implementation: Lead the building, fabrication, and installation of custom equipment and machinery for in-house production.
  • Optimization & Integration: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure seamless integration of equipment into existing manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshooting & Improvement: Diagnose mechanical issues with production equipment, recommend improvements, and implement solutions to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Develop prototypes of new equipment, test systems for performance, and refine designs for improved scalability and functionality.
  • Maintenance & Support: Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure consistent production performance.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, equipment design, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical design, machine shop operations, and equipment fabrication.
  • Experience with CAD software for design and modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have:
  • Experience in a regulated environment or with medical device manufacturing (not required but preferred).
