Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Sr. Purchasing Project Manager to oversee and execute purchasing projects.
As a Sr. Purchasing Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, tracking project timelines and driving the successful implementation of purchasing initiatives such as supplier sourcing, tooling kickoff and readiness for pre-production and production milestones.
This role requires excellent self-driven leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to ensure supply chain continuity, processes optimization, and overall success on new and existing programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in driving procurement, project management and/or supply chain activities in the automotive, aerospace & defense, or advanced manufacturing industries.
Responsibilities:
Ensure on-time completion of purchasing activities in support of commercial van pre-production and production builds by partnering with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Development, New Product Introduction and Vehicle Line.
Uncover and clearly articulate risks to senior leadership and internal stakeholders
Act as the 'voice of purchasing' when collaborating with cross-functional teams on the potential impact of engineering and/or content changes on cost and timing
Act as the 'voice of the program' back to purchasing to ensure timely completion of deliverables and goals to support the vehicle program
Own data management, analysis, and reporting across an array of applications (Google Workspace, Excel, SAP, Tableau, Confluence, Jira, etc.), particularly as it relates to supplier sourcing, risk management and leadership reporting activities
Manage short-term projects, ad-hoc requests and various tasks in support of business needs on an as-needed basis
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field that imparts strong analytical and communication skills
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate through ambiguity and complexity
Adept at building data visuals to communicate clear and concise messaging to senior- and executive-level audiences
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets capabilities with knowledge on constructing pivot tables, charts, and formulas
Experience supporting purchasing/procurement, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or operations activities for automotive products preferred
3+ years of procurement or other supply chain experience, preferably in the automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing industry.
