JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
What will you do at JT4? The Instrumentation Electrical Design Engineer III will design circuit diagrams and drawings using AutoCAD that will interface directly with current hardware systems. Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, design, development, manufacturing, testing, installation, integration, sustainment, operation, and maintenance of diverse software, electronic, or mechanical equipment systems.
Job Summary - Essential Functions/Duties
Perform as a Team Lead of a development, sustainment, or operations of engineering teams on complex engineering assignments
Investigate, troubleshoot, analyze, review and design solutions to problems in operational hardware & software systems
Coordinate with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications & requirements
Verify & comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures
Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies
Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work
Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
Directly interface with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities
Act as liaison for design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements & specifications
Conduct site visits and experimental investigations, analyze engineering problems, propose solutions & alternatives, and provide recommendation (some travel will be required)
Perform other job-related duties, as required
Desired Qualifications
Mastery of computer-based engineering tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Previous Aerospace Experience with RF, Antennas, or COMMS electrical design
Requirements - Education, Technical, And Work Experience A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and four years of related engineering experience or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and two years of related engineering experience are required for this position.
In addition, an Engineer III must possess the following qualifications:
Mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of electrical engineering that enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs.
Sufficient knowledge and skills to apply in the latest developments of electrical engineering to solve new challenges
Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools. (i.e. AutoCAD)
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
Ability to communicate and work effectively to other team members and contribute as needed. The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $105,510 to $146,653 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
