Position Summary:
The Director is responsible for the recruitment and yield of high-caliber students into graduate degree programs in the College of Engineering. Reporting to the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering, the Director of Admissions and Recruitment is responsible for the admissions and recruiting enterprise for all graduate programs in the College. The Director leads the recruitment team to support the recruitment, admissions, and yield processes for the College’s graduate programs to reach desired cohort sizes and program revenue targets.The Director supervises and manages the recruitment team, consisting of one Assistant Director. They manage the daily operations of the recruitment process. They create and manage event strategies to promote COE to all prospective students both in-person and virtually. Implements innovative marketing and recruiting strategies and tactics to enhance the prominence and brand of COE’s traditional and multi-modality graduate programs. In collaboration with the Assistant Director, the Director plans and conducts information sessions, presentations, and represents the programs at various events regionally and nationally. Uses data analytics to inform decision making and facilitate strategic goals. Provides regular recruiting and admissions status reports. The Director identifies and develops opportunities to liaise with high-level corporate decision makers to foster business development and relationship management. The Director assists the Director of Marketing and Communication with strategic planning and communications for Graduate programs. They interact with the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in new and existing degree programming, certificates and partnerships.Limited evening and weekend hours will be required, as well as some travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates and manages the delivery of a year-round calendar of internal and external, innovative and effective recruiting events to facilitate lead cultivation and marketing.
Delivers strategically scheduled on- and off-campus as well as virtual information sessions, panels, special topic sessions, open houses, and graduate fairs for prospective applicants.
Coordinates with College leadership to plan and organize recruitment activities at other colleges and universities.
Manages and leads the Graduate Recruitment team, consisting of one Assistant Director. Provides support, guidance and direction for each project that is owned by the recruitment team.
Ensures the timeliness and effectiveness of application management, project management, and prospective student communication among recruitment team. Identifies gaps in current processes and delegates appropriately.
Works with other Directors across the University to create synergies, share best practices, and work collaboratively to achieve desired goals.
Develops and implements individual and team goals; trains, develops and evaluates staff; provides on-going feedback on performance improvement.
Identifies new opportunities for professional development.
Identifies and develops opportunities for corporate relationships to generate leads and referrals for COE Graduate Programs.
Explores partnerships and agreements with other colleges and universities.
Provides support on initiatives that improve recruitment and visibility opportunities for graduate programs
Works with other members of the Graduate and Executive Recruitment team on various efforts related to increasing enrollments within Graduate Programs.
Represent COE at industry and professional organizations events and leverage relationships to impact and increase the admissions pipeline.
Leverages technology to effectively manage inquiry, admissions, and enrollment pipelines.
Responsible for managing the data through the admissions process that is required for various rankings surveys as well as enrollment updates.
Participate in cross-University, College/School and Graduate programs projects and committees related to goals, rankings, and objectives of COE graduate programs as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience
Must have at least 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas in an academic or business setting – recruiting, business development and relationship management
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Proven ability and track record of establishing and nurturing relationships on the individual and corporate level to generate successful recruitment outcomes
Knowledge of best practices in program marketing, recruitment, project management, networking, and business development
Knowledge of applicant/recruitment CRM systems is strongly preferred
