Position Description

Position: Community Engagement Intern, US Programs

Employer. Vitamin Angel Alliance, Inc. (VA)

Division: Programs

Location: Flexible. This person can work remotely from anywhere in the continental U.S.

Compensation: $20/hr

Period of Performance: Internship to begin in late May 2025. The position is approved for 15-20 hours per week through August 1, 2025.

Role or Purpose of Position


Vitamin Angels is looking for an outgoing individual with great communication skills to join the Programs Division and support the US Programs. This individual will support outbound communication to increase awareness of the US prenatal multivitamin programs among key stakeholders and generate new applications and/or program promotion from prospective partners. This community engagement role will largely focus on engaging potential partners through cold calling/emailing, booking meetings for introductory calls, and generating lists of qualified prospects.

Major Duties and Responsibilities


• Identify and generate interest among qualified organizations• Utilize healthcare databases (e.g. PolicyMap) and sales software (e.g. LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to create a list of prospects, targeting high-need communities across the US• Maintain current record of qualified leads in CRM/Salesforce• Reach out to potential partners through cold calling/email, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and direct mail• Respond to initial inquiries from prospective partners and schedule introductory meetings

Level of Decision-Making

Within the bounds of VA’s mission, values and policies, and sound professional practices, the Community Engagement Intern, US Programs has the discretion to use independent judgment to make decisions of significant consequence that affect VA clients, partners, and employees.

Organizational Relationships

VA operates under a collaborative, matrix management model. The Community Engagement Intern, US Programs establishes their own daily work priorities and ensures that all responsibilities are conducted consistent with accepted best practices, sound professional judgment and within an established schedule and budget.

Senior Program Officer, US & Canada

Primary working relationships:

- Senior Program Officer, US & Canada- Program Officer, US & Canada - US Technical Advisor- Cross-divisional team supporting US Programs

Qualifications and Skills (Required and Preferred)


Required:

  • Junior or senior year college student
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in business development, including lead generation and outbound communication
  • Skilled at internet-based research and email savvy
  • Command of LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Strong people skills and team player
  • Independent, highly organized and results-driven with great follow-through and focus
  • Junior or senior year college student
  • Available 15-20 hours a week during standard business hours
  • Additional computer skills: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Salesforce
  • Ability to manage stress, including but not limited to, stress resulting from local and foreign travel, large crowds, open spaces, shared office space, and daily activities with reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to remain seated and/or stationary for extended periods of time, including but not limited to prolonged air travel, and general job assignments performed at a desk.

Preferred (not required):

  • One to two years’ experience is business development/lead generation
  • Fluency in Spanish; additional language skills will be considered an asset
  • Experience in nonprofit and/or governmental verticals
