Reporting to the Assistant Provost of Workforce Development, the Dean for Industry and Technology is responsible for providing administrative leadership and supervision with a student focused mindset for all division operations, projects, and initiatives. This position provides leadership for the academic disciplines of Automation Technology, Automotive Technology, Collision and Refinishing Technology, Computer Aided Design and Drafting, Engineering, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Machine Tool Technology, and Welding Technology. Responsibilities for this position include overseeing budgeting, course and program scheduling, faculty and staff recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation. The role also encompasses curriculum and program development, ensuring alignment with industry standards, assessing student learning outcomes, and providing strategic leadership and supervision for the division to support workforce development and economic growth.


Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design workforce solutions that expand apprenticeships, work-based learning, Competency-Based Education (CBE) and programmatic opportunities, ensuring alignment with industry standards and workforce needs to support regional economic growth.


Advocate for policies and funding that strengthen Career and Technical Education (CTE), workforce development, and community engagement initiatives.


Ensure compliance with accreditation, licensure, and industry certification requirements for programs within the division.


Lead program advisory committees by engaging industry partners, employers, and subject matter experts to align programs with workforce needs. Facilitate meaningful discussions on curriculum development and program improvements while leveraging committee insights to strengthen employer partnerships and enhance career pathways.


Work collaboratively with key stakeholders including local employers, transfer institutions, and community-based organizations aimed at positioning the college as a hub for workforce and economic development by fostering strategic partnerships, engaging in regional initiatives, and enhancing community awareness.


Use data-informed decision-making and provide leadership for the division that supports innovative teaching practices that advance equity in student success.


Maintain appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation for the division, including but not limited to maintaining the instructional schedule each semester.


Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to support faculty and staff, improving instructional effectiveness, and fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment.


Lead student learning assessment across all assigned instructional areas, working with faculty and cross-departmental teams to design assessment plans, evaluate outcomes, collect data, and apply results to improve curriculum and instruction.


Leverage data-driven decision-making to foster growth and innovation in budgetary and programmatic initiatives.


As a member of the administrative team, serve on college committees external boards and committees, and develop effective working relationships within the college to address issues that relate to both instruction and the overall mission of the college.


Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications



A master's degree in a related field required, master's degree within one of the division's subject areas is preferred.


Minimum three years of experience in higher education at the administrative level OR three years of industry-specific supervisory leadership experience required.


Teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level preferred.
Experience with curriculum development and assessment of student learning preferred.
