Description: Job Title: Business Accountability Associate - Financial Crimes Operations
Location: El Paso, Texas
Job Type: Contingent Resource Assignment (6-month contract with intention to convert to full-time)
Job Description: Seeking a Business Accountability Associate (BAA) to join the Transactional Risk & Intelligence Group (TRIG) within Financial Crimes Operations. TRIG is a centralized function that delivers actionable transactional analysis and intelligence reporting. The BAA will perform transactional reviews of trade finance customers and their letter of credit activity.
Responsibilities:
Conduct due diligence research on parties to letters of credit to determine if the activity is commercially reasonable.
Evaluate letters of credit exhibiting red flags for trade-based money laundering to assess if the risks can be mitigated.
Analyze large datasets in Microsoft Excel, including geography, transactional values, volumes, and relational data.
Write observations and risk dispositions to help business partners understand customer behavior and manage risk.
Communicate findings and provide appropriate direction to managers, reviewers, and business partners.
Required Qualifications:
6+ months of experience in risk management, business controls, quality assurance, business operations, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, National Security & Intelligence Studies, or other relevant fields.
Experience in BSA/AML compliance and understanding of risk management principles; financial crimes risk management experience is helpful.
Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, with in-depth Excel experience (including Pivot Tables and analysis of large data sets).
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to build strong partnerships and work across multiple cultures.
Proven interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage large and complex sets of data.
Foreign language skills are a plus.

Ideal candidates are recent college graduates without direct professional experience.
Valuable knowledge includes financial crimes analysis, accounting, or business studies.
Education that included writing skills, research papers, and Excel skills is required.
Candidates should be eager to work through transactions and conduct research into parties and products involved in trade transactions.
Past candidates from UTEP have shown strengths in writing and Excel.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Review transactions to determine if they are commercially reasonable.
Research parties and products involved in trade transactions.
Identify and evaluate red flags in trade transactions.
Compensation:
Zone 3 Max Bill Rate: $51.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
In-office 5 days a week is a requirement.
