Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with expertise in concrete mix design and testing to lead projects within our independent laboratory. This role will focus on managing client projects, overseeing material testing, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory testing, concrete technology, and project coordination to deliver accurate, reliable, and timely results.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Client Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their project requirements and ensuring timely delivery of testing services.
Develop project timelines, manage resources, and coordinate laboratory testing activities.
Prepare and present reports on test results, mix performance, and compliance findings.
Maintain strong client relationships and provide technical support as needed.
Concrete Mix Design & Testing:
Design and evaluate concrete mix proportions based on client specifications and project needs.
Conduct laboratory testing for fresh and hardened concrete properties, including slump, air content, compressive strength, and durability tests.
Experience with Fiber Reinforced Concrete would be a huge plus. Testing per C1609, EN14651, C1550, and C1579 would be concentration areas.
Analysis and reporting of residual strength data from FRC
Analyze test data, troubleshoot mix performance issues, and recommend adjustments.
Ensure all testing procedures align with ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and other relevant industry standards.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Oversee the implementation of laboratory quality control protocols to maintain testing accuracy and reliability.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and accreditation requirements (e.g., AASHTO, CCRL, ASTM).
Conduct internal audits and support external accreditation reviews.
Implement corrective actions for non-conforming results and maintain detailed records.
Team Leadership & Training:
Supervise and mentor lab technicians involved in concrete testing.
Develop and deliver training sessions on concrete mix design, testing methodologies, and best practices.
Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the laboratory.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Construction Management, or a related field (Preferred but not Mandatory)
Experience: Minimum 3+ years in concrete mix design, material testing, and project management within a laboratory setting.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in laboratory and field testing of concrete and aggregates.
Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and other industry standards.
Proficiency in testing equipment, data analysis, and reporting.
Proficient in Word and Excel Data Input
Project Management Skills:
Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating with clients.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in project tracking and reporting tools.
Certifications (Preferred but not Mandatory):
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I
ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician
ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Grade II
ACI Concrete Strength Technician
