Our client is a commercial-stage biotech company with a strong pipeline of innovative therapies in rare diseases and specialty pharmaceuticals. With a commitment to patient access and operational excellence, they are seeking a Senior or Executive Director, Trade & Distribution to lead specialty pharmacy management, government price reporting, and channel strategy.
The Role
As the Senior or Executive Director, Trade & Distribution, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company's trade, distribution, and channel management strategy. This role will oversee partnerships with specialty pharmacies, wholesalers, GPOs, and payers, ensuring compliant, efficient, and patient-centric distribution of the company's products.
Key Responsibilities
Trade & Channel Strategy: Design and execute a best-in-class distribution model, ensuring seamless product access via specialty pharmacies, wholesalers, and channel partners.
Specialty Pharmacy & Wholesaler Management: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with SPs, distributors, and GPOs, optimizing contracts, performance metrics, and service levels.
Government Pricing & Compliance: Oversee government price reporting (Medicaid, 340B, VA/DOD) and ensure compliance with all pricing regulations.
Reimbursement & Access Support: Work cross-functionally with Market Access, Finance, and Commercial teams to optimize reimbursement strategies and patient access programs.
Distribution Operations: Lead inventory management, product allocation, and order fulfillment strategies to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Analytics & Insights: Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and contract performance, leveraging data to optimize the trade strategy.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all distribution and pricing practices adhere to federal and state regulations, mitigating risk for the company.
Candidate Profile
10+ years of experience in trade & distribution, market access, or channel management within biotech/pharma.
Deep expertise in specialty pharmacy management, government price reporting, and distribution operations.
Strong relationships with wholesalers, specialty pharmacies, GPOs, and reimbursement organizations.
Knowledge of Medicaid, 340B, CMS price reporting, ASP, and commercial payer landscapes.
Ability to negotiate and manage contracts with distribution and specialty pharmacy partners.
Strong understanding of product launch and commercialization strategies in biotech.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills to work with Market Access, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams.
