The La Salle University Nurse Anesthesia Program is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach in the post- BSN to DNP program by participation in didactic and clinical curriculum, recruitment, and evaluation with the support of Nurse Anesthesia Program Director and Assistant Program Director. .
Essential Duties
Teaches students at a high level of expertise.
Complies with the syllabus of assigned courses, following the directives of the Chair.
Attends immersion day.
Contributes to the revisions of syllabi for assigned course in consultation with faculty and Chair of Undergraduate program.
Attends faculty orientation programs and meetings with course coordinators.
Creates exams and grades assignments for the course(s) as specified by the course syllabus.
Follows guidelines for course and clinical sections as formulated and communicated by course faculty coordinating each course.
Directs students on course assignments as specified in syllabi and in consultation with faculty coordinating each course.
Provides email to students and clinical faculty.
Uses University mail exclusively and frequently for communicating course information with students and program information with Chair of Undergraduate program.
Uses the La Salle Portal to access information about courses and programs.
In consultation with the Chair and staff, provides remedial instruction for students.
Provides students information about their performance on tests, assignments, and evaluations.
Shares plans with students on improving performance.
Required Qualifications
Five or more years of clinical experience in the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) role. (Standard B-9a)
Pre-licensure master’s or doctoral degree with a Nurse Anesthesia major from a regionally accredited institution and nationally accredited nurse anesthesia program (or equivalent) with graduate preparation in the basic and clinical sciences relevant to nurse anesthesia practice. (Standard B-9b)
Demonstrated record of professional and clinical experience, instruction (teaching), curriculum, evaluation development, and scholarship. (Standard B-9c)
Knowledge of current CRNA practice and related professional issues (standard B-9d)
Current knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements for nurse anesthesia educational programs (Standard B-9e)
Earned doctorate preferred in nursing or related field from an institution of higher education that was accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred. (Standard B-10)
A current unencumbered license to practice as a registered professional nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Pennsylvania. (Standard B-11)
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) licensure by the NBCRNA. (Standard B-12)
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching in higher education environment preferred.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
This position typically works during La Salle business hours, 8:30am-4:30pm.
Weekend or evening work may be required in certain situations.
