Job Description:

Job Summary:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer specializing in cooling products for the aerospace industry, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and overseeing the manufacturing processes for advanced cooling systems. This role involves collaboration with design, quality, and production teams to ensure the efficient production of high-quality cooling products that meet stringent aerospace standards.

Process Development and Optimization:
  • Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for cooling products, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Project Management:
  • Lead and manage manufacturing engineering projects from concept through to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, production, and supply chain to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators, and report on project status to stakeholders.

Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve product throughput.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues, working closely with maintenance and production staff.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address production problems.

New Product Introduction (NPI):
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to ensure manufacturability of new cooling products.
  • Develop and execute validation and verification plans for new products and processes.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on design for manufacturability (DFM).

Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, FAA).
  • Conduct process audits and support quality assurance initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor control plans to maintain high-quality standards in production.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and production staff on best practices and new technologies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in aerospace cooling systems.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience with the manufacturing of cooling products or thermal management systems.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading engineering projects.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing process simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
