An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of the office and assists in the administration and compliance of institutional, endowed, and private scholarships totaling over $27 million annually.
  • Provides office staff with technical guidance and assists with compliance oversight to ensure adherence with appropriate practices and policies.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining the campus wide scholarship system and data maintenance for consolidated scholarship systems and also assists in annual and quarterly reporting and budget analysis.
  • Works to troubleshoot and resolve problems, provide support to campus offices, and drive student engagement and contact.
  • Manages activities to ensure students are counseled regarding award and aid packages.
  • Conducts and ensures appropriate delivery of presentations at recruiting/orientation events across campus.
  • Manages departmental relationship with the Center for Educational Accessibility and Disability Resources (CEDAR) to facilitate disability accommodations and medical withdrawals related to scholarships.
  • Manages the awarding of scholarships/awards through JagSPOT and Banner.
  • Leads the annual scholarship renewal process.
  • Coordinates with the Office of Development to ensure that endowed and gift funds are awarded in compliance with donor agreements and produces annual reporting for donor relations initiatives.
  • Assists South Cares in the review, awarding, monitoring, and reporting of retention aid.
  • Coordinates with Student Academic Success to organize and implement the scholarship Earn Back Program.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and private granting agencies.
  • Assists in monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations retaining to scholarships.
  • Assists in preparing periodic reports for external programs as well as university departments.
  • Provides student need assessments for scholarship awarding purposes.
  • Serves as liaison with donor organizations on all matters, including data review, return of funds and data release processes.
  • Coordinates with the NCAA Financial Aid Officer regarding cost of attendance and countable aid monitoring for student athletes.
  • Utilizes multiple software platforms, including Microsoft Office suite, Banner financial aid and student accounting modules, various campus student platforms, and online scholarship management system (JagSPOT).
  • Coordinates with all units, including the Graduate School, Athletics, and Student Affairs to ensure awarding/accounting for graduate assistant tuition awards.
  • Serves as liaison for all grant related tuition, stipend, and scholarship aid support on campus.
  • Oversees and coordinates scholarship appeals process.
  • Guides students through the appeals process, coordinates committee meetings, ensures compliance with university regulations and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
