Job Description:

MEI Auto Group is a fast-growing, high-performing auto dealership group with 9 "Buy Here Pay Here" dealerships and service/reconditioning facilities across the DFW Metroplex. We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), responsible for overseeing car sales, reconditioning and inventory operations.

Position Overview:

The COO will lead the operational strategy and performance of MEI Auto Group's retail and service locations, driving growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. The role is key to delivering strong financial results and high levels of customer satisfaction across all dealership and reconditioning operations and will report directly to the President.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing high-volume auto dealerships, is experienced in scaling operations, and has strong leadership skills to build a highly engaged team. The COO will be responsible for financial oversight, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in alignment with MEI Auto Group's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive overall operational strategy, ensuring alignment with company vision, and foster a high-performing team culture across all locations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across sales, service, Inventory and reconditioning to maximize efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage P&L, ensure accurate financial reporting, and consistently achieve financial targets by controlling costs and driving revenue.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and performance management for department managers, fostering communication between teams and corporate leadership.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experiences across all operations by resolving escalated issues and maintaining high standards for service quality.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process re-engineering and continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create and execute effective, cost-efficient advertising and merchandising strategies that drive dealership performance.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of automotive industry experience in a senior management role, with a focus on dealership operations.
  • Proven success in leading high-volume, multi-location dealerships to year-over-year growth.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L management and operational reporting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to motivate, mentor, and coach a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Operations, or a related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
