This is a critical leadership position with opportunities to influence key business decisions and drive significant financial and operational improvements across the organization.
The role will require working closely as a business partner with management and various functions including Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, and R&D to develop and implement strategic, operational, and process improvements that will drive business performance and margin growth. The position reports directly to the Finance Director and is located at a manufacturing site in Madison, IN.
Essential Job Functions:
Support Operations and Supply Chain leaders in driving process improvements, establishing rigor with operational scorecards/metrics to enhance productivity and profitability.
Analyze monthly financial performance, prepare budgets and forecasts, and collaborate with plant management to improve and measure operational performance.
Partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities for cost savings and increased productivity.
Enhance reporting processes to provide relevant, timely financial data for decision-making in line with organizational goals.
Track and analyze trends in key performance indicators, including revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures.
Prepare and present financial performance trends and conduct root cause analysis of forecast/plan variances.
Oversee cost accounting to maintain and enhance standard costing processes.
Support planning efforts related to capacity versus demand in forecast and strategic planning processes.
Improve inventory accuracy through monitoring and enforcing a cycle count program.
Utilize analytical tools to identify areas for operational efficiency improvements and cost savings.
Participate in Lean Manufacturing events, plant walks, and cost reduction initiatives.
Provide mentorship and leadership to the finance team, fostering professional development.
Maintain confidentiality with all business information.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Previous experience as a Manufacturing Plant Controller.
Strong background in standard cost accounting systems, with CPA/CMA or MBA preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems.
10+ years of experience in a professional finance/business environment.
Strong business acumen, with excellent communication and results-driven focus.
Proficiency in financial modeling with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong analytical skills, with a focus on delivering timely, accurate financial information.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with a continuous improvement mindset.
