The Project Manager will be responsible for the timely completion of projects working closely with sales and engineering.
Essential Functions
Work with sales & PD&E teams to ensure projects meet milestones consistent with the project objectives.
Formalize and document the project management process for projects.
Initiate, conduct and document weekly meetings with team's goal of meeting all project commitments.
Keep team motivated, focused on the project goals/objectives and directed to meet due dates.
Provide project management, guidance and risk mitigation strategies.
Requires the ability to work with other departments, leading through influence, mining and analyzing data and proactive communication to ensure successful project performance.
Responsibilities
Work closely with business development to identify new potential customer needs and facilitate further discussions of required project scope documentation.
Act as the primary customer conduit for all project communications during the product development process.
Develop, implement and keep current all project management documentation (project schedule, budget, running action item list, etc.) and stage gate project deliverables.
Facilitate data gathering, consolidation, analysis and provide summary input to department leaders. Analyze data to identify project risks and potential issues before they occur.
Support lead engineer to facilitate regular and revised cost estimate summaries and metrics relative to project scopes.
Facilitate program reviews with PD&E and customers for project milestone reviews.
Assist lead engineer with sourcing of new parts/components as needed to complete projects.
Participate in engineering meetings to ensure project deliverables, design reviews, and timelines are on track.
Participation in daily production planning meetings as required to review potential risks and solutions for current projects.
Collaborate with engineering management to develop standard processes, metrics and/or templates and participate in the deployment of new standards, processes and tools that align with our partners.
Ability to assist in various areas when needed and to promote a teamwork environment
Education & Qualifications
Project management experience; 2-4+ years
Possess or be willing to work toward PMP certification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience a plus
Knowledge of finance and ability to perform business case analysis
Ability to prioritize workload and adjust to multiple priorities
Must have superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills
