* Perform tax compliance functions, including planning, monitoring, analyzing, accounting, and reporting for all investment vehicles (e.g. mutual funds, exchange traded funds, common trust funds, pension funds, and trusts) and investment securities held by the funds.
* Research and analyze complex tax matters (e.g., U.S. and non-U.S. taxation, state and federal tax returns, differences between Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and tax basis accounting) and recommend solutions.
* Assist fund treasurers with distribution requirements and tax strategies.
* Shaping and leading the day-to-day production and delivery of more junior associates.
* You will be a technical subject matter expert and will provide guidance to others on operational and technical questions.
Skills/Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a relevant field of study. CPA or Master of Taxation and/or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
* Requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related function.
* Experience in the preparation of federal and state corporate tax returns.
* Basic understanding of income tax provisions.
* General knowledge ofmutual funds or experience in the investment management industry is preferred but not required. Interest to learn the investment management industry as it relates to US and non-US tax regulations, investment mandates, investment vehicle structures, investment operations, third party providers, competitive landscape, reporting and regulatory environment.
* Passion for process improvement and automation. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power Automate.
* Well-versed in using Excel to store, present, process and dissect data - writes versatile formulas to solve complex problems. Experience with SAP and Analysis for Office.
* Corptax software experience is strongly preferred (Compliance, Provision and Corptax Office modules).
* Exceptional quality and attention to detail to work deliverables. Likes digging into numbers, telling stories with data, and are well-acquainted with financial statements.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable and experienced in communicating complex issues clearly and concisely.
