Pay Range: $34.40/hr + $4.70 (Health & Wellness Benefit)

SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks and Pohakuloa Training Area, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.


We are currently hiring Motor Vehicle Mechanics for our Maintenance Shops at Schofield Barracks, HI to perform maintenance and repair of automotive equipment. Works under the general supervision and guidance of a Lead Mechanic.


The essential job functions include (but may not be limited to):

  • Performing the full range of work involved in the inspection, repair, testing, modification, and overhaul of automotive and fire control equipment.
  • Applying broad practical knowledge of operation and installation of all components, assemblies, and systems of vehicles.
  • Accomplishing assignments within the limits of established policies, shop practices, and accepted trade to insure acceptable techniques.
  • Performing work in accordance with technical manuals and similar published procedures.
  • Must be able to perform all work within reasonable allowable time frames in accordance with the appropriate Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC).
  • Must ensure all identified faults are repaired and required services are performed prior to the Quality Control (QC) final inspection.
  • Removing, installing, modifying, cleaning, adjusting, and repairing of major automotive assemblies.
  • Providing general support and limited depot-level repair and overhaul of major assemblies and components.
  • Maintaining compliance with published standards.
  • Will be required to perform housekeeping of work areas and may be assigned to support contract requirements in a job-related area such as environmental, safety, or security.
  • May be cross-utilized in other job areas.

Work Conditions:

  • Work is typically performed in a well-lighted and ventilated areas, however work may be performed outdoors and may be subject to inclement weather conditions.
  • Will be required to report to work at all USAG-HI sites and will be expected to work overtime periodically when required.
  • Regular work hours may, with proper notification, be adjusted to include shift work to meet contract
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Specialized training through vocational or military schooling or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Federal Government Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a material handling equipment certification.
  • Ability to lift objects weighting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided and candidates must reside within commuting distance or indicate a willingness to relocate at their own expense.
  • Current HI Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
