SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks and Pohakuloa Training Area, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.


We are currently hiring Heavy Equipment Mechanics / Quality Control Inspectors (QCI) for our Maintenance Shops at Schofield Barracks, HI to perform technical inspections (both on-site and off-site) on a wide range of Army tactical and commercial wheeled vehicles, power generation units, construction equipment, MILVAN containers, electric carts, portable light sets, and material handling equipment.


In order to certify standards of repair have been met, along with the operational readiness of the equipment, our QCIs perform technical inspections to determine equipment condition upon receipt of work orders and final inspections once repairs are complete, as well as Stage III/IV corrosion assessments. Inspectors are required to prepare detailed technical inspections across supportable equipment types (using AR 750-8 required forms) to identify man-hours needed troubleshooting and repair part requirements. Additionally, QCIs may be required to prepare Estimated Costs of Repair/Damage/Fabrication (ECOR/ECOD/ ECOF) and equipment Classifications.


Primary job duties include (but may not be limited to):

  • Inspection of equipment, identification of needed troubleshooting, and/or performance of diagnostics, as identified across a wide variety of Army technical manuals/bulletins (TM/IETM/TB), to validate or determine repair faults.
  • Identity TM/TB inspection/repair criteria tied to field- and sustainment-level repair standards utilizing initial, in-progress, and final inspections.
  • Perform various diagnostic tests or inspections using fixed dynamometers, compression testers, timing lights, tachometers, multi-meters, engine analyzers, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and interpret guides, TM/IETM work packages, instructions, and/or commercial manuals as needed to identify the nature of malfunctions, parts requirements, and standards of repair across maintenance allowable time charts (MAC standards).

Work Conditions:

  • Work is performed according to IAW-applicable Army regulations, technical bulletins, and/or commercial manuals when/where applicable.
  • Logistic Information System access requirements include the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), Federal Logistics Data (FEDLOG), Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM), and the Modification Management Information System (MMIS).
  • Work is performed in a well-lighted and ventilated area and proper PPE is provided.
  • Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • May be assigned to support contract requirements in a job-related area, assisting general maintenance activities across associated support equipment.
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Specialized training through vocational or military schooling or a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Broad scope of mechanical expertise related to equipment operations across tactical & commercial heavy equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift license/certification
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided and candidates must reside within commuting distance or indicate a willingness to relocate at their own expense.
  • Current HI Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
