Pay Range: $43.70/hr + $4.70 (Health & Wellness Benefit)

SA-TECH supports the U.S. Army Sustainment Command's Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise Logistics Support Services at Schofield Barracks and Pohakuloa Training Area, HI. We provide maintenance services in the form of above-brigade-level, field, sustainment, and limited depot-level maintenance support as well as transportation counseling services and handling passenger, equipment, and cargo movements for Army Field Support Battalion Hawaii's (AFSBn-HAW) assigned tactical units and government affiliated civilian agencies.


We are currently hiring Instrument Mechanics (Fire Control) for our Maintenance Shops at Schofield Barracks, HI to perform the full range of work involving the inspection, repair, testing, modification, and overhaul of optical instruments and fire control equipment. Works under the general supervision and guidance of the Maintenance Control Supervisor.


The essential job functions include (but may not be limited to):

  • Inspect, repair, test, modify and overhaul of optical instruments and fire control equipment.
  • Apply broad practical knowledge of instrument equipment theory and repair practices.
  • Install, repair, maintain, and adjust indicating and controlling instrumentation.
  • Utilize hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Disassemble malfunctioning instruments and examine and test mechanism and circuitry for defects.
  • Troubleshoot equipment in or out of control systems and replace or repair defective parts and test assembly for conformance with specification.
  • Additional duties include performing tasks utilizing vendor manuals and procedures; utilizing test and calibration instruments; performing inspections, making adjustments, and performing calibrations according to established specifications.

Work Conditions:

  • Work is typically performed in a well-lighted and ventilated areas, however work may be performed outdoors and may be subject to inclement weather conditions.
  • Regular work hours may, with proper notification, be adjusted to include shift work to meet contract requirements.
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Special training through vocational or military schooling or at least two (2) years of applicable experience.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis.
  • Current Hawaii Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Secret clearance.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
