Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment.

• Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors.

• Coat tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun.

• Attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.

• All work is accomplished IAW with the applicable Army regulations, DA PAMs, Technical Manuals, Technical Bulletins, and Repair Manuals.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ability to complete multiple tasks, and work under deadlines.

• Excellent personal communication skills

• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• No Direct Supervisory Responsibilities.

Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Requires 2 years’ experience in the issuance of tools and equipment.

• Basic knowledge of hand tools and property accountability

• Must be proficient in the use of computers and MS Office Software

• Ability to identify needed remedies or improvements and recommend solutions.

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

• Must be U.S. citizen.

• Perform all the tasks not exclusive of those described in the job description section.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling material.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS:

• Job is performed indoors and outdoors and will be exposed to prevailing weather conditions. May work on concrete floors and in drafty areas. The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high, depending on location. Will work a 40- hour work week. Wearing of protective wear and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.

• Employee is expected to dress appropriately and be punctual for their shift. The employee must be dependable and have strong communication skills while meeting project deadlines. Timesheets must be completed daily, ensuring that you accurately record your actual work hours. Timely and precise timesheet entries are essential for maintaining our records and ensuring smooth operations.
