Position Summary
The Patient Access Manager, reporting to the Director of Patient Access, oversees patient registration services, scheduling support, and reimbursement related functions at the patient point of access. Monitors and oversees the performance of patient access representatives ensuring complete and accurate patient registration in compliance with CCOC and regulatory standards. Serves as a liaison for patients, CCOC departments, physicians and insurance carriers to resolve escalated registration issues.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities
Ensure registration accuracy by reporting and measuring registration accuracy reports including but not limited to demographic data and insurance eligibility success rates. This also consist of managing pre-registration solutions and patient completion rates. Oversees the accuracy of pre-registration information as well as consistently searches for opportunities for improvement. Reviews registration accuracy and throughput on a consistent basis of all Patient Access staff.

Manages and educates front desk registration and Patient Access staff. This includes monthly meetings with Patient Access Supervisors to evaluate performance, new hire onboarding, training and mentoring.

Ensures scheduling accuracy by meeting with two-four physician teams weekly, preparing weekly scorecards, holding staff meetings with written agendas, reviewing current initiatives and the respective opportunities for advancement.

Becomes expert in the following systems including but not limited to: Athena Practice Scheduling templates, Keona patient self-scheduling system, Appointment reminders, and Cerner. Monitors and managers call center metrics via reviewing/evaluating weekly reports regarding call volume, abandon rates, and hold times.

Keeps Director of Patient Access informed of key issues and current action items.

All other duties not specifically assigned.

Position Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree or progress towards degree preferred.

Experience: At least three (3) years of demonstrated leadership and management experience required. Seven (7) years experience in various patient access positions. Proven experience in process improvements, conflict resolution, and ability to initiate and follow through on projects.

Technical Skills: Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal or no supervision. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, work with different levels of leadership within the organization and provide pertinent feedback. Experience in Microsoft Office products Word and Excel for reporting and document creation.
