Alotten, a strategic talent management company, has been retained by a medical sales company to assist with recruiting for a Sales Development Representative.
The role will support growth in the life sciences laboratory market. The client's equipment is used in the identification and recognition of laboratory samples found in biotech, pharmaceutical, forensic, biobank and medical research laboratories.
The Opportunity
In this position, you will be a key member of the sales team, leading growth at the top of the sales funnel by reaching new potential customers. Duties include generating prospects, driving trade show attendance, and re-contacting lost opportunities. You will liaison with marketing, sales, and sales management to assist in ensuring the company reaches its goals.
Responsibilities
Developing sales strategies to draw in potential buyers or to solicit new potential customers
Initiating contact with prospects through cold-calling, email, LinkedIn, or social media engagement
Creating relationships with prospects to identify their potential needs and qualify their interests and viability to drive sales
Presenting product information to customers once you have identified their needs
Driving trade show attendance and assisting with related sales responsibilities as needed
Moving solid leads through the marketing funnel, connecting them to a salesperson, and arranging in-person meetings, emails, or phone calls
Following up with prospects who expressed interest but did not purchase
Collaborating with sales executives to ensure the company's goals and target are met
Travel to trade shows as well as client installs as needed
Experience, Skills, & Abilities
Good telephone etiquette and computer literacy skills
Goal oriented to achieve outbound requirements weekly/monthly
Previous experience in high volume sales work with demonstrated growth results is a plus
Creativity to develop new outbound strategies and techniques
Strong communication skills and a true team player
