Underwriting Services Specialist at MMC in Broomfield, Colorado

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at ICAT. This role will be based in Broomfield, Colorado. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.


This role is in the operations of a Managing General Agency (MGA), understanding how catastrophic modeling impacts underwriting, pricing, and risk management while making a direct impact on business results through your analytical skills.



We will count on you to:

• Service a book of business throughout the full policy lifecycle while adhering to service standards.
  
  


• Build and maintain relationships with agency partners and sales representatives to enhance risk classification, bind ratios, and sales volume.
  
  


• Understand agency management, product distribution, and claims procedures to support growth and underwriting profit.
  
  


• Create and maintain operational procedures to ensure efficiency.
  
  


• Communicate professionally with producers via phone, email, and chat regarding underwriting, policy servicing, and billing inquiries.
  
  


• Mentor and train less experienced team members while collaborating cross-functionally with Compliance, Claims, Product, and Underwriting for process improvements and product enhancements.
  
  

What you need to have:

• 1+ year of work experience in an office environment, preferably within the financial services industry.
  
  


• Strong attention to detail, creativity, and intellectual curiosity, coupled with effective communication skills.
  
  


• Excellent customer service abilities and strong time management skills.
  
  


• Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  
  

What makes you stand out:

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  
  


• 3+ years of insurance or closely related office experience, with successful completion of insurance and/or financial designations.
  
  


• Experience utilizing third-party catastrophe risk modeling services.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $40,900 to $87,100.


The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
