Position:
Lone Rock Resources is seeking a Forester with a focus either on Logging Administration or Silviculture to work on our 35,000 acre Southern Division Tree Farm in Jackson County, Oregon. The successful candidate will join a team of hardworking, talented, and dedicated individuals who thrive in performing exceptional work in a productive environment. The successful candidate will be based out of our Central Point, OR field office.
Primary Job Duties (Logging Administration):
Harvest unit and road construction analysis and layout
Logging contract preparation and administration
Assistance with district silvicultural activities
Primary Job Duties (Silviculture):
Performance and administration of all silvicultural activities including planting, herbicide application, pre-commercial thinning, animal damage control, fertilization, and young plantation exams
Assistance with district logging administration activities
Primary Job Duties (both positions)
Communication and relationship building with neighbors and government agencies
Prescribed burning and wildland firefighting
Budgeting
Required Qualifications:
Committed to live in Jackson County
The ability to work both independently and to work well with others
Working knowledge of logging systems and equipment capabilities or working knowledge of silvicultural systems
Basic knowledge of the Oregon Forest Practices Act
Ability to travel to job locations over a large area
Valid driver's license and good driving history
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of field experience in a forestry related field
Associates or higher degree in forestry or related field
Working knowledge of GIS and Microsoft Excel and Word
